FCS – Choices for Better Health

May is Marathon Month!

Accumulate miles during the whole month of May. A full marathon (26.2 miles) is less than a mile per day, but if that feels like too much, choose the half marathon (13.1 miles) instead!

Walk Across Tennessee

Walk Across Tennessee is an 8-week walking program for teams of eight people. The teams will have a friendly competition to see who can log the most miles walking,  jogging, biking, dancing or other types of physical activity.

Current Challenge is September 6 to October 31, 2021

  1. Form a team of 4 and create a unique team name
  2. Designate a team captain.
  3. Each team member will complete the individual registration: Individual Registration

What is the Maintain, Don’t Gain! Healthy Holiday Challenge?

This holiday season, the only thing that should be “stuffed” is the turkey. Many Americans gain between 1 and 5 pounds each holiday season. While it might not sound like much, most people never manage to lose those extra pounds. You are invited to join the UT Extension Maintain, Don’t Gain! Healthy Holiday Challenge. Rather than focusing on trying to lose weight, this FREE seven-week challenge provides you with strategies and resources to help maintain your weight throughout the holiday season.
